CFAC - Christian Formation Advisory Committee
Mission Statement "The Purpose of catechesis (religious formation) is to make a person's faith become living, conscious, and active through the light of instruction... Catechesis is a lifelong process for the individual and a constant and concerted activity of the Christian Community." The Christian Formation Advisory Committee seeks to carry out its above stated purpose through program design and instruction, support of the work of the directors, and fundraising. The Christian Formation Advisory Committee meets during monthly scheduled meetings to review the present status of the Lifelong Learning religious education programs, sacramental preparation activities, and special need programs at St. Leonard. The committee provides guidance and suggestions to the Elementary and Youth Ministry Religious Education directors, the Christian Formation Coordinator, and other departmental personnel. The committee also coordinates fund raising activities, with the intention to use the funds for the purpose of enhancing and supporting the Religious Education programs at St. Leonard and to outreach to other needy programs.
The Christian Formation Advisory Committee supports all its members and provides general guidance and suggestions to ensure the Religious Education programs meet the objectives of both the parents and the pastor.
Membership on the Committee is open to all parish members eighteen years of age and older. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month (Common Meeting Night) eight times per year. Phone 262-679-0880 for further inquiry.
